At the age of 23, my best friend had her first baby and I was in awe. Not only of the tiny, beautiful baby in front of me but of motherhood itself as well. I wanted so badly to experience that alongside my lifelong friend and to have our children grow up together. However, I decided to hold off until much later, and I am forever grateful that I did.
This year I will enjoy my Mother’s Day to the fullest, with the ones around me that allowed me to have the title of Mom. We will enjoy each other’s company, eat great food and be grateful for the day and each other. The only difference this year is that I will shoulder the responsibility. And I’m perfectly okay with that.
